Achill hat die schönsten Strände Europas May 15. 2008

Letzte Woche wurden von der Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) die Ergebisse der Prüfungen für die Irischen Strände bekannt gegeben. Mayo ist eine von sechs Regionen in Irland, in der alle Strände den EU Richtlinien für gute Wasserqualität entsprechen. Insgesamt wurden über 130 Strände getestet. Die 13 Strände in Mayo sind:

  • Keem Bay - Achill
  • Keel - Achill
  • Dooega - Achill
  • Golden Strand, Dugort - Achill
  • Silver Strand, Dugort - Achill
  • Elly Bay - Belmullet
  • Mullaghroe - Belmullet
  • Carramore - Louisburgh
  • Old Head - Louisburgh
  • Mulranny
  • Bertra - Westport
  • Ross - Killala
  • Clare Island
Von den 13 Stränden, die Ihren Status als Blue Flag Beach behalten durften sind fünf auf Achill und von den fünf tatsächlich sogar zwei in Doogort ... na dann ... Schöne Sommerferien!!!
