Die Pläne der EU werden konkret. Wie angekündigt wurden nun die ersten Quoten zur Reduzierung der CO2 Emissionen veröffentlicht. Demnach sind viele europäische Mitgliedsstaaten verpflichtet bis 2020 ihre Emissionen um den angegebenen Prozentsatz zu senken.

Diese Quoten sind abhängig von der Wirschaftskraft des jeweiligen Landes und stehen in Abhängigkeit zum Pro Kopf Bruttosozialprodukt, so wird es z.B. Ländern wie Bulgarien erlaubt sein sogar mehr CO2 auszustoßen.

Irland muss als eins der Länder mit dem Pro Kopf höchsten BSP mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit bis zu 20% einsparen.
